Maine

Maine is a U.S. state located in the New England region of the northeastern United States. Known for its jagged, rocky coastline, low, rolling mountains, heavily forested interior, and picturesque waterways, Maine is also recognized for its seafood cuisine, especially lobster and clam dishes.

History

Maine became the 23rd state of the Union on March 15, 1820, as part of the Missouri Compromise.
