Maria Furtwängler (born 13 September 1966) is a German physician and actress. She is best known for her role as Charlotte Lindholm in the German television series Tatort. Furtwängler is also recognized for her work in the field of public health and women's rights.
Early Life and Education[edit | edit source]
Maria Furtwängler was born in Munich, Germany, into a family with a strong artistic and medical background. Her mother, Kathrin Ackermann, is an actress, and her father, Bernhard Furtwängler, is a professor of medicine. She is the great-niece of the famous conductor Wilhelm Furtwängler.
Furtwängler studied medicine at the University of Montpellier in France and later at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. She completed her medical degree and became a licensed physician.

Furtwängler began her acting career at a young age, appearing in various television series and films. However, she gained widespread recognition for her role as Charlotte Lindholm, a detective in the long-running German crime series Tatort.
