- Mather, California is a census-designated place located in Sacramento County. The city is named after Carl Mather, a World War I flying ace. Mather is known for its rich history and vibrant community.

- Mather was originally an air force base, Mather Air Force Base, which was established in 1918 and named after Second Lieutenant Carl Spencer Mather, a World War I airman. The base was closed after the end of the Cold War, and has since been converted into a civilian airport, Sacramento Mather Airport, and a community of homes and businesses.

- Mather is located in the eastern part of Sacramento County, California. It is bordered by the city of Rancho Cordova on the north and the city of Sacramento on the west.
