Maxine Dexter
Maxine Dexter is an American politician and physician serving as a member of the Oregon House of Representatives. She represents the 33rd district, which includes parts of Portland and Washington County.
Early Life and Education[edit | edit source]
Maxine Dexter was born and raised in California. She attended the University of California, San Diego, where she earned her undergraduate degree in Biology. She then went on to attend the University of Washington School of Medicine, where she received her M.D. degree.
Medical Career[edit | edit source]
After completing her medical education, Dexter specialized in pulmonology and critical care medicine. She has worked in various medical institutions, including Kaiser Permanente in Portland, Oregon. Dexter has been involved in numerous medical organizations and has contributed to medical research and education.
Political Career[edit | edit source]
Maxine Dexter was appointed to the Oregon House of Representatives in June 2020 to fill the vacancy left by former Representative Mitch Greenlick. She was subsequently elected to the position in the November 2020 elections. As a legislator, Dexter has focused on healthcare, housing, and environmental issues. She serves on several committees, including the House Committee on Health Care and the House Committee on Housing.
