Mizacorat

Mizacorat is a pharmacological agent that belongs to the class of drugs known as glucocorticoids. It is primarily used in the treatment of inflammatory and autoimmune diseases.

Pharmacology[edit | edit source]

Mizacorat is a synthetic glucocorticoid, which means it is a man-made version of hormones produced by the adrenal glands. Glucocorticoids are part of the body's immune response and help to reduce inflammation. They do this by preventing or suppressing the immune system's response to inflammation or infection.

Mizacorat works by binding to the glucocorticoid receptor, which is found in almost every cell in the body. This binding has several effects, including the reduction of inflammation and suppression of the immune response.

Clinical Uses[edit | edit source]

Mizacorat is used in the treatment of a variety of conditions, including rheumatoid arthritis, asthma, and lupus. It can also be used to treat conditions that cause inflammation of the skin, eyes, lungs, stomach, and blood cells.

Side Effects[edit | edit source]

Like all drugs, Mizacorat can cause side effects. These can include weight gain, mood changes, insomnia, and osteoporosis. It can also increase the risk of infections due to its immune-suppressing effects.
