Mountain Breeze was a citrus-flavored soft drink produced by PepsiCo. It was introduced in the 1990s as a competitor to Coca-Cola's Sprite and Dr Pepper Snapple Group's 7 Up.
History[edit | edit source]
Mountain Breeze was launched in the United States during the 1990s. It was part of PepsiCo's strategy to capture a share of the growing market for clear, citrus-flavored soft drinks. Despite its initial popularity, Mountain Breeze was eventually discontinued in the 2000s.
Ingredients[edit | edit source]
The primary ingredients of Mountain Breeze included carbonated water, high fructose corn syrup, citric acid, natural flavors, sodium benzoate (as a preservative), and caffeine.
Marketing[edit | edit source]
Mountain Breeze was marketed as a refreshing alternative to other citrus-flavored sodas. Its advertising campaigns often highlighted its crisp, clean taste and its ability to quench thirst.
Discontinuation[edit | edit source]
Despite its initial success, Mountain Breeze faced stiff competition from established brands like Sprite and 7 Up. Changes in consumer preferences and the introduction of new products eventually led to its discontinuation in the 2000s.
