Muhammad Ali Pate
Muhammad Ali Pate is a Nigerian physician and public health expert who has made significant contributions to global health. He is known for his work in public health, health policy, and healthcare management. Pate has held various leadership positions in both national and international health organizations.

Muhammad Ali Pate was born in Nigeria. He pursued his medical degree at the Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria, Nigeria. He later obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Duke University's Fuqua School of Business in the United States. Additionally, he completed a Master of Science (MSc) in Health Systems Management from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine.

Pate began his career as a physician in Nigeria, where he worked in various capacities within the healthcare system. He later joined the World Bank, where he served as a Senior Health Specialist. During his tenure at the World Bank, he was involved in numerous health projects across Africa and other regions.
In 2008, Pate was appointed as the Executive Director of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) in Nigeria. Under his leadership, the agency made significant strides in improving primary healthcare services and immunization coverage in the country.
Minister of State for Health[edit | edit source]
In 2011, Pate was appointed as the Minister of State for Health in Nigeria. During his tenure, he focused on strengthening the healthcare system, improving maternal and child health, and combating infectious diseases such as polio and malaria. He played a key role in the implementation of the Saving One Million Lives Initiative, which aimed to reduce child and maternal mortality in Nigeria.

After his tenure as Minister of State for Health, Pate continued to contribute to global health. He served as the Chief Executive Officer of Big Win Philanthropy, an organization focused on improving the lives of children and young people in developing countries. He also held a position as a Professor of Public Health Leadership at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.
