Nandrolone cyclotate

From WikiMD's Food, Medicine & Wellness Encyclopedia

Nandrolone Cyclotate is a synthetic anabolic steroid derived from testosterone. It is used in the field of medicine to treat a variety of conditions, including anemia, osteoporosis, and some forms of neoplasia including breast cancer, and also acts as a progestin-based contraceptive. Nandrolone Cyclotate is also widely used by bodybuilders and other athletes for its performance-enhancing effects.

Chemical Structure[edit | edit source]

Nandrolone Cyclotate is a 19-nortestosterone (19-nor) anabolic androgenic steroid. The 19-nor classification refers to the structural change of the testosterone hormone in that it lacks a carbon atom at the 19th position. This simple structural change gives us Nandrolone, and by adding the short Cyclotate ester, we have Nandrolone Cyclotate.

Medical Uses[edit | edit source]

In the field of medicine, Nandrolone Cyclotate is primarily used to treat anemia, osteoporosis, and some forms of neoplasia including breast cancer. It has also been used to treat conditions such as major burns, AIDS, and certain types of dwarfism. The drug is known to increase hemoglobin and red cell mass, making it a favorable choice for treating anemia.

Non-Medical Uses[edit | edit source]

Outside of the medical field, Nandrolone Cyclotate is popular among bodybuilders and athletes for its ability to increase muscle mass, strength, and endurance. However, its use is considered illegal in most sports and can lead to severe penalties.

Side Effects[edit | edit source]

Like all anabolic steroids, Nandrolone Cyclotate can have severe side effects, including cardiovascular disease, liver damage, and psychiatric effects such as mood swings and aggression. It can also lead to hormonal imbalances, causing symptoms such as gynecomastia in men and virilization in women.

Legal Status[edit | edit source]

In many countries, including the United States, Nandrolone Cyclotate is classified as a controlled substance, making its non-medical use illegal. However, it is still widely used in the bodybuilding community despite the legal risks.
