National University (Philippines) (NU) is a private, non-sectarian university located in Manila, Philippines. It was founded on August 1, 1900, by Don Mariano Fortunato Jhocson Sr. It is one of the oldest universities in the country and is known for its strong programs in engineering, architecture, business, and information technology.

National University was originally established as Colegio Filipino in 1900. It was later renamed Colegio Mercantil and then National Academy. In 1916, it was granted university status and became National University. The university has a rich history and has undergone several transformations and expansions over the years.
