Nicaragua is a country located in Central America, bordered by Honduras to the north and Costa Rica to the south. It is the largest country in Central America in terms of land area and is known for its diverse landscapes, which include lakes, volcanoes, and beaches. The capital and largest city is Managua.

Nicaragua's history is marked by periods of political unrest, dictatorship, and fiscal crisis—the most notable causes that led to the Nicaraguan Revolution in the 1960s and 1970s.
