Orange County is a region located in the southern part of the U.S. state of California. With its stunning coastline, affluent communities, and thriving business sector, Orange County is known for its picturesque beaches, luxury shopping, and entertainment industries, including the world-renowned Disneyland Resort.

Orange County was originally inhabited by the indigenous Acjachemen and Tongva peoples. It was later claimed by the Spanish Empire and became part of Alta California in the Spanish colony of New Spain. Following the Mexican War of Independence, it became part of Mexico before being transferred to the United States in 1848 after the Mexican-American War. Orange County was officially established on March 11, 1889, from a portion of Los Angeles County.

Orange County is bordered by Los Angeles County to the north, San Bernardino County to the northeast, Riverside County to the east, and San Diego County to the southeast. It features a diverse range of geographical features, from 42 miles of picturesque coastline to the rolling hills and flat plains in the interior. The Santa Ana Mountains and the Cleveland National Forest offer outdoor recreation and natural beauty.

The economy of Orange County is diverse, with a strong base in technology, tourism, and manufacturing. The county is home to several Fortune 500 companies, including Ingram Micro and First American Financial.
