Original Starbucks
Original Starbucks[edit | edit source]
The Original Starbucks store, also known as the Starbucks Pike Place Store, is the first established outlet of the international coffeehouse chain Starbucks. It is located in Seattle, Washington, in the historic Pike Place Market.
History[edit | edit source]
The Original Starbucks store was established on March 30, 1971, by three partners: Jerry Baldwin, Zev Siegl, and Gordon Bowker. They were inspired by entrepreneur Alfred Peet to sell high-quality coffee beans and equipment. The store originally was located at 2000 Western Avenue and moved to its present location at 1912 Pike Place in 1976.
Design[edit | edit source]
The design of the Original Starbucks store has been preserved to maintain its historic look. Unlike other Starbucks stores, it features the original Starbucks logo, a bare-breasted siren that was modeled after a 16th-century Norse woodcut.
Products[edit | edit source]
The Original Starbucks store offers a variety of products, including a wide range of coffees, teas, pastries, and merchandise. It also sells unique items not found in other Starbucks stores, such as mugs and t-shirts with the original logo.
Legacy[edit | edit source]
The Original Starbucks store has become a popular tourist attraction in Seattle. It symbolizes the humble beginnings of what is now the largest coffeehouse chain in the world. The store's success has also contributed to the revitalization of the Pike Place Market.
