In 1970, Koffmann moved to the UK and began working at the Michelin-starred restaurant, The Waterside Inn, in Bray, Berkshire. In 1977, he opened his own restaurant, La Tante Claire, in London. The restaurant quickly gained three Michelin stars, establishing Koffmann as one of the leading chefs in the UK.
