Pizza 73
Pizza 73 is a Canadian pizza franchise that was established in 1985 in Edmonton, Alberta. The name "Pizza 73" reflects the founding year of the company and the original phone number, 473-7373. The company is known for its emphasis on quality ingredients and a variety of menu options.
History[edit | edit source]
Pizza 73 was founded by David Tougas and Guy Goodwin in Edmonton, Alberta. The first location was opened on 118 Avenue and quickly gained popularity due to its unique phone number and catchy jingle. The company expanded rapidly throughout the 1980s and 1990s, opening locations across Alberta and into British Columbia and Saskatchewan.
In 2007, Pizza 73 was acquired by Pizza Pizza, a larger Canadian pizza chain based in Toronto, Ontario. Despite the acquisition, Pizza 73 continues to operate under its original brand name and maintains its headquarters in Edmonton.
Menu[edit | edit source]
Pizza 73's menu includes a variety of pizzas, chicken wings, mozzarella sticks, and other fast food items. The company is known for its "Everyday Deal", which offers customers a pizza and a side for a discounted price. Pizza 73 also offers a number of specialty pizzas, including the "Super Pan Pizza" and the "Gourmet Vegetarian".
Community Involvement[edit | edit source]
Pizza 73 is actively involved in the communities it serves. The company regularly sponsors local sports teams and events, and has a long-standing partnership with the Stollery Children's Hospital in Edmonton. Through its "Slices for Smiles" program, Pizza 73 raises funds for children's hospitals across Canada.
