Pizza Corner was a popular chain of pizzerias in India and Sri Lanka. Established in 1996, it was one of the first major pizza chains to enter the Indian market, offering a variety of pizzas, pastas, and other Italian dishes.

History[edit | edit source]

Pizza Corner was founded by Global Franchise Architects, a company that specializes in developing and managing food service brands. The first outlet was opened in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, and the brand quickly expanded to other major cities across India and Sri Lanka.

Menu[edit | edit source]

The menu at Pizza Corner included a wide range of pizzas, from classic Margherita to more localized flavors that catered to Indian tastes, such as Paneer Tikka and Chicken Tandoori. In addition to pizzas, the chain also offered pasta, garlic bread, salads, and desserts.

Expansion and Operations[edit | edit source]

Pizza Corner expanded rapidly in the late 1990s and early 2000s, opening numerous outlets in urban centers. The brand was known for its dine-in, takeout, and delivery services. It also introduced various promotional offers and meal deals to attract customers.

Acquisition and Rebranding[edit | edit source]

In 2014, Pizza Corner was acquired by Papa John's Pizza, a major American pizza chain. Following the acquisition, many Pizza Corner outlets were rebranded as Papa John's, marking the end of the Pizza Corner brand in India and Sri Lanka.

Legacy[edit | edit source]

Despite its rebranding, Pizza Corner is remembered for being one of the pioneers in the Indian pizza market. It played a significant role in popularizing pizza as a mainstream fast food option in the region.
