Ponderosa and Bonanza Steakhouses
Ponderosa and Bonanza Steakhouses are a chain of buffet and steakhouse restaurants that are a part of the Homestyle Dining LLC portfolio. The restaurants are known for their American cuisine, particularly their steak dishes, and their family-friendly atmosphere.
History[edit | edit source]
The first Ponderosa Steakhouse was opened in 1965 by Dan Blocker, who played the character "Hoss Cartwright" on the popular television show Bonanza. The name "Ponderosa" is a reference to the fictional ranch on the show. The Bonanza Steakhouse brand was introduced in 1966.
Menu[edit | edit source]
The menu at Ponderosa and Bonanza Steakhouses primarily features beef dishes, including a variety of steaks and a signature sirloin dish. The restaurants also offer a range of other American cuisine, including chicken, seafood, and pork dishes, as well as a buffet with a variety of salad, soup, and dessert options.

As of 2021, there are over 20 Ponderosa and Bonanza Steakhouses in the United States, primarily in the Midwest and Eastern regions. There are also several international locations, including in Puerto Rico, Qatar, Taiwan, and the United Arab Emirates.
