The Redwood Valley AVA is an American Viticultural Area located in Mendocino County, California. It is part of the larger North Coast AVA region and was officially designated as an AVA in 1997. The valley is named for the redwood trees that populate the region.
Geography and Climate[edit | edit source]
The Redwood Valley AVA is located in the northeastern part of Mendocino County. The valley is approximately 12 miles long and 3 miles wide. The climate is classified as Mediterranean, characterized by warm, dry summers and mild, wet winters. The region's elevation ranges from 200 to 1,000 feet above sea level.
