Rich McCormick
Richard Dean McCormick is an American physician and politician serving as the U.S. Representative for Georgia's 6th congressional district. He is a member of the Republican Party.
Early life and education[edit | edit source]
McCormick was born in [[]], and grew up in [[]]. He attended the United States Naval Academy, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree. He later received his Doctor of Medicine (MD) from the Morehouse School of Medicine and completed his residency in emergency medicine.
Military career[edit | edit source]
McCormick served in the United States Marine Corps as a pilot and later in the United States Navy as a physician. During his military career, he was deployed to various locations, including Afghanistan and Iraq.
Medical career[edit | edit source]
After completing his military service, McCormick worked as an emergency medicine physician in Georgia. He has been involved in various medical organizations and has contributed to healthcare policy discussions.
Political career[edit | edit source]
McCormick ran for the United States House of Representatives in 2020 for Georgia's 7th congressional district, but was defeated by Carolyn Bourdeaux. He ran again in 2022, this time for Georgia's 6th congressional district, and won the election, succeeding Lucy McBath.
