Ridgewood is a neighborhood in the borough of Queens, New York City. It is known for its rich history and diverse community. Ridgewood is bordered by the neighborhoods of Bushwick to the west, Glendale to the east, and Middle Village to the south.

Ridgewood was originally part of the Town of Newtown and has a history dating back to the 17th century. The area was primarily farmland until the late 19th century when it began to develop into a residential neighborhood. The Ridgewood Historic District is noted for its well-preserved early 20th-century architecture.

Ridgewood is a diverse community with a mix of ethnic groups. According to the United States Census Bureau, the neighborhood has a population of approximately 69,000 people. The area is known for its German-American heritage, although it has seen an influx of Latino and Eastern European immigrants in recent decades.
