SB-200646
SB-200646 is a 5-HT2C receptor antagonist. It is used in scientific research and has been shown to have anxiolytic and antidepressant effects in animal studies. SB-200646 is one of the few selective 5-HT2C antagonists available for research purposes.
Pharmacology[edit | edit source]
SB-200646 is a potent and selective antagonist of the 5-HT2C receptor, with a Ki of 1.4 nM. It also has moderate affinity for the 5-HT2B receptor and the 5-HT2A receptor, with Ki values of 53 nM and 622 nM respectively. SB-200646 is one of the few selective 5-HT2C antagonists available for research purposes.
Effects[edit | edit source]
In animal studies, SB-200646 has been shown to have anxiolytic and antidepressant effects. It has been suggested that these effects may be due to the inhibition of 5-HT2C receptors, which are known to be involved in the regulation of mood and anxiety.
