SOX5
SOX5 is a gene that encodes a member of the SOX (SRY-related HMG-box) family of transcription factors. These proteins play a critical role in the regulation of embryonic development and in the determination of the cell fate. The SOX family members have highly conserved DNA-binding domains known as HMG (High Mobility Group) boxes.
