Saveur
Saveur is an international gourmet, food, wine, and travel magazine that specializes in essays about various world cuisines. Its slogan, "Savor a World of Authentic Cuisine," hints at its approach to food journalism that puts the focus on the history and culture of food.
History[edit | edit source]
Saveur was created by Dorothy Kalins, Michael Grossman, Christopher Hirsheimer, and Colman Andrews, who was also the editor-in-chief from 1994 to 2001. The magazine was launched in 1994 by World Publications, before being sold to Bonnier Corporation in 2007.
Content[edit | edit source]
Saveur magazine is known for its focus on authentic international cuisine and culture. Unlike other food magazines, it does not focus on recipes alone but also explores the traditions, history, and people behind the food. Each issue of Saveur provides rich and detailed information about food, the culture of food, and the people who create it.
The magazine includes detailed recipes, food journeys, and beautiful photography of the dishes and the regions they come from. It also includes book reviews and product testing.
