Scott Conant is an American celebrity chef, restaurateur, and cookbook author. He is best known for his appearances on the Food Network, particularly as a judge on the popular cooking competition show Chopped.

Early Life and Education[edit | edit source]

Scott Conant was born on February 19, 1971, in Waterbury, Connecticut. He developed an interest in cooking at a young age and decided to pursue it as a career. He attended the Culinary Institute of America, graduating in 1991.

Career[edit | edit source]

After graduating, Conant began his culinary career at the renowned San Domenico in New York City, where he worked under the guidance of chef Cesare Casella. He later opened his own restaurant, L'Impero, in 2002. The restaurant received a three-star review from The New York Times and was named "Best New Restaurant" by the James Beard Foundation.

In 2007, Conant opened another restaurant, Scarpetta, in New York City. Scarpetta has since expanded to locations in Miami, Las Vegas, and Los Angeles.

In addition to his restaurant ventures, Conant has made numerous appearances on television. He is perhaps best known for his role as a regular judge on the Food Network's Chopped. He has also appeared on Top Chef, Iron Chef America, and The Today Show.

Conant resides in New York City with his wife, Meltem, and their two daughters.
