Selbu is a municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. It is part of the Nea River traditional region. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Mebonden. Other villages in Selbu include Flora, Fossan, Innbygda, Selbustrand, and Tømra.

Selbu was established as a municipality on 1 January 1838. The areas of Tydal were separated from Selbu to form a separate municipality on 1 January 1901.

Selbu is located in the middle of Norway, in the county of Trøndelag. The municipality is known for its distinctive landscape, which includes forests, mountains, and the lake Selbusjøen. The Nea River runs through the municipality, providing opportunities for fishing and outdoor recreation.
