Shen Fu-hsiung (Chinese: 沈富雄; pinyin: Shěn Fùxióng
- born 3 November 1943) is a Taiwanese physician and politician. He served as a member of the Legislative Yuan from 1993 to 2005, representing Taipei.
Early life and education[edit | edit source]
Shen Fu-hsiung was born in Taipei, Taiwan. He attended the National Taiwan University, where he earned his medical degree. Shen later pursued further studies in the United States, specializing in internal medicine.
Medical career[edit | edit source]
Before entering politics, Shen worked as a physician and gained recognition in the field of internal medicine. He was known for his contributions to medical research and his dedication to patient care.
Political career[edit | edit source]
Shen Fu-hsiung joined the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) and was elected to the Legislative Yuan in 1993. During his tenure, he was an advocate for healthcare reform and worked on various legislative initiatives to improve the healthcare system in Taiwan. Shen was re-elected multiple times and served until 2005.
Later life[edit | edit source]
After retiring from politics, Shen continued to be active in public life, often commenting on political and social issues in Taiwan. He remains a respected figure in both the medical and political communities.
