Silandrone

Silandrone is a synthetic and injectable anabolic–androgenic steroid (AAS) which was never marketed. It is also known as Testosterone 5α-androst-2-en-17-one 3-decanoate. Silandrone is a testosterone derivative and has a unique chemical structure that is not found in other steroids. It is a prodrug of testosterone and is believed to act as a long-acting prodrug of testosterone when administered via intramuscular injection.

Chemistry[edit | edit source]

Silandrone, also known as testosterone 5α-androst-2-en-17-one 3-decanoate, is a synthetic androstane steroid and a derivative of testosterone. It is more specifically a derivative of nandrolone (19-nortestosterone) as it lacks a carbon atom at the 19th position. Silandrone differs from testosterone by the presence of a 5α-androst-2-en-17-one group. It is also a prodrug of testosterone.

Pharmacology[edit | edit source]

As a prodrug of testosterone, silandrone has androgenic and anabolic effects. It increases protein synthesis in the body, leading to increased muscle growth and strength. It also has secondary effects such as increasing bone density and stimulating the growth of body hair.

Side Effects[edit | edit source]

Like other anabolic–androgenic steroids, silandrone can have a number of potential side effects. These can include acne, hair loss, prostate enlargement, and increased risk of heart disease and liver disease. It can also have psychological effects such as mood swings, aggression, and depression.

Legal Status[edit | edit source]

In many countries, including the United States, silandrone is classified as a controlled substance. This means that it is illegal to buy, sell, or possess without a valid prescription.
