Slice is a line of fruit-flavored, carbonated soft drinks that were first introduced by PepsiCo in 1984. The beverage was a direct competitor to Coca-Cola's Sprite and 7 Up, and it was known for its use of real fruit juice in its recipes.

Slice was launched by PepsiCo in 1984 as a brand of fruit-flavored carbonated beverages. The original flavors included lemon-lime, orange, and cherry cola, among others. The brand was marketed as a healthier alternative to traditional soft drinks due to its inclusion of real fruit juice.

In the 1990s, Slice was rebranded and its formula was changed to include 10% fruit juice. This change was accompanied by a new marketing campaign that emphasized the drink's natural ingredients. Despite these changes, Slice's market share declined in the late 1990s and early 2000s, and it was eventually discontinued by PepsiCo.

In 2018, the Slice brand was relaunched by New Slice Ventures, a company not affiliated with PepsiCo. The new version of Slice is marketed as a low-calorie, low-sugar alternative to traditional soft drinks.

Over the years, Slice has been available in a variety of flavors. The original lineup included lemon-lime, orange, and cherry cola. Other flavors that have been introduced over the years include apple, grape, passionfruit, peach, pineapple, strawberry, and tropical punch.

Marketing[edit | edit source]

Slice's marketing campaigns have often emphasized the drink's natural ingredients and fruit juice content. In the 1990s, the brand's advertising slogan was "We got the juice," a reference to the 10% fruit juice content of the drink.
