Stefan Tytus Dąbrowski
Stefan Tytus Dąbrowski (1877–1947) was a prominent Polish physician, biochemist, and politician. He made significant contributions to the field of medicine and played an active role in the political landscape of Poland during the early 20th century.
Early Life and Education[edit | edit source]
Stefan Tytus Dąbrowski was born on December 31, 1877, in Warsaw, which was then part of the Russian Empire. He pursued his medical studies at the University of Warsaw, where he earned his medical degree in 1901. Dąbrowski furthered his education in biochemistry and physiology in various European institutions, including the University of Paris and the University of Vienna.
Medical Career[edit | edit source]
Dąbrowski's medical career was marked by his research in biochemistry and physiology. He was particularly interested in the study of enzymes and their role in metabolic processes. His work contributed to the understanding of enzyme kinetics and the biochemical pathways involved in cellular respiration.
In addition to his research, Dąbrowski was a dedicated educator. He held professorships at several universities, including the University of Lviv and the University of Warsaw. His lectures and publications were highly regarded in the medical community.
Political Involvement[edit | edit source]
Stefan Tytus Dąbrowski was also an active participant in Polish politics. He was a member of the Polish Socialist Party (PPS) and later joined the Polish People's Party (PSL). Dąbrowski was elected to the Sejm, the lower house of the Parliament of Poland, where he advocated for healthcare reforms and the improvement of medical education in Poland.

Dąbrowski continued his work in both medicine and politics until his death on March 25, 1947. He left behind a legacy of scientific contributions and public service.
