Stephanie of Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen (1837 – 1859) was a German princess who became the Queen consort of Portugal through her marriage to Peter V of Portugal.
Early Life[edit | edit source]
Stephanie was born on July 15, 1837, in Sigmaringen, Germany. She was the daughter of Charles Anthony, Prince of Hohenzollern and Princess Josephine of Baden.
Marriage and Reign[edit | edit source]
Stephanie married Peter V of Portugal, and became the Queen consort of Portugal. Their marriage took place on May 29, 1858. Unfortunately, Stephanie's reign as queen was short-lived, as she passed away on January 17, 1859, in Lisbon, Portugal.
Legacy[edit | edit source]
Stephanie of Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen is remembered for her brief but impactful time as Queen consort of Portugal. Her legacy lives on through her descendants.
