Strength or strongness refers to the quality or state of being physically strong. It is the ability of a person or animal to exert force on physical objects using muscles. Increasing physical strength is the goal of strength training, an exercise type that involves the use of resistance to induce muscular contraction, which builds the strength, anaerobic endurance, and size of skeletal muscles.
