TIK-301

From WikiMD's Food, Medicine & Wellness Encyclopedia

TIK-301 (also known as PD-6735) is a melatonin receptor agonist with Ki values of 0.23 nM for the MT1 receptor and 0.14 nM for the MT2 receptor. It has been studied for potential use in the treatment of insomnia and other sleep disorders.

Pharmacology[edit | edit source]

TIK-301 is a melatonin receptor agonist, meaning it stimulates the activity of the melatonin receptor. It has a high affinity for both the MT1 and MT2 receptors, with Ki values of 0.23 nM and 0.14 nM respectively. These receptors are involved in the regulation of the sleep-wake cycle, and their activation by TIK-301 may help to promote sleep.

Clinical trials[edit | edit source]

TIK-301 has been studied in clinical trials for its potential use in the treatment of insomnia and other sleep disorders. However, as of 2021, it has not been approved for medical use.
