Theodor Burghele

Theodor Burghele (1905–1977) was a prominent Romanian surgeon and urologist, known for his significant contributions to the field of urology and for his role in the development of medical education in Romania.

Theodor Burghele was born on February 12, 1905, in Iași, Romania. He pursued his medical studies at the University of Bucharest, where he graduated with a degree in medicine in 1929. Burghele's medical career began at the Colțea Hospital in Bucharest, where he worked as a resident. He quickly rose through the ranks due to his dedication and expertise. In 1940, he was appointed as the head of the Urology Department at the Fundeni Clinical Institute, a position he held until his death.
