UL Hospitals Group
UL Hospitals Group is a network of six public hospitals in the Mid-West Region of Ireland. The group was established in 2013 and is managed by the Health Service Executive. The hospitals provide a wide range of acute and specialist services to the people of North Tipperary, Limerick and County Clare.
Hospitals[edit | edit source]
The UL Hospitals Group consists of the following hospitals:
- University Hospital Limerick - The largest hospital in the group, providing tertiary care services for the region.
- Ennis Hospital - A general hospital providing a range of acute and specialist services.
- Nenagh Hospital - A general hospital serving the North Tipperary area.
- St. John's Hospital (Limerick) - A voluntary hospital providing specialist services.
- Croom Orthopaedic Hospital - A specialist orthopaedic hospital.
- University Maternity Hospital Limerick - The only maternity hospital in the group.

The UL Hospitals Group provides a wide range of services, including emergency, intensive care, maternity, orthopaedic, and general surgery services. The group also offers specialist services in areas such as Cardiology, Oncology, and Pediatrics.
Governance[edit | edit source]
The UL Hospitals Group is governed by a Board of Directors and is managed by a Chief Executive Officer. The group is part of the Health Service Executive, which is responsible for the provision of health and personal social services in Ireland.
Education and Research[edit | edit source]
The UL Hospitals Group has a strong focus on education and research. The group is affiliated with the University of Limerick, and many of its staff are involved in teaching and research activities. The group also has a number of research partnerships with other institutions and industry partners.
