Uché Blackstock
Uché Blackstock is an American physician and health equity advocate. She is the founder and CEO of Advancing Health Equity, an organization dedicated to addressing racial health disparities and promoting health equity in the United States.
Early Life and Education[edit | edit source]
Uché Blackstock was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York City. She comes from a family of medical professionals; her mother, Dr. Dale Blackstock, was also a physician. Uché attended Harvard University, where she earned her undergraduate degree in biological sciences. She continued her education at Harvard Medical School, where she obtained her MD degree.
Career[edit | edit source]
After completing her medical training, Blackstock worked as an emergency medicine physician. She has held academic positions at the New York University School of Medicine, where she focused on health disparities and medical education.
In 2019, Blackstock founded Advancing Health Equity, an organization that provides consulting services, training, and workshops to healthcare organizations and professionals. The goal of the organization is to eliminate racial health disparities and improve health outcomes for marginalized communities.

Blackstock is a prominent advocate for health equity and has been featured in various media outlets. She frequently speaks on issues related to racial disparities in healthcare, social determinants of health, and the impact of systemic racism on health outcomes. Uché Blackstock is the twin sister of Dr. Oni Blackstock, who is also a physician and health equity advocate. The two sisters often collaborate on initiatives aimed at improving health equity.
