Union of Medical Care and Relief Organizations (UOSSM) is a coalition of humanitarian, non-governmental, and medical organizations from the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Netherlands, Switzerland, and Turkey. These organizations collaborate to provide medical care and relief to victims of natural disasters and armed conflicts, with a particular focus on the Syrian Civil War since its inception in 2011. UOSSM's mission is to provide medical aid and support to all Syrian victims of war, regardless of their nationality, ethnicity, gender, or religious beliefs.

History

The Union of Medical Care and Relief Organizations was established in response to the escalating humanitarian crisis in Syria. Since the outbreak of the Syrian Civil War, the healthcare infrastructure in Syria has been severely compromised, with hospitals being destroyed and medical personnel being targeted. UOSSM was formed to address the urgent medical needs of the Syrian population, both within Syria and in refugee populations in neighboring countries.

Activities

UOSSM's activities include the provision of emergency medical care, support for hospitals and primary health care centers, mental health and psychosocial support, and training for healthcare professionals. UOSSM also works on the rehabilitation of healthcare facilities and the provision of medical supplies and equipment to areas where healthcare services have been disrupted.
