The University of North Florida (UNF) is a public university in Jacksonville, Florida. It is part of the State University System of Florida. The university was established in 1965 and began offering classes in 1972. UNF is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).

The University of North Florida was founded in 1965, with the first classes held in 1972. Initially, the university offered only upper-level and graduate courses, but it expanded to include lower-level courses in 1984. The university has grown significantly since its inception, both in terms of student population and campus size.

Campus[edit | edit source]

The UNF campus is located on a 1,300-acre nature preserve, which includes lakes, nature trails, and wildlife. The campus features modern facilities, including the Thomas G. Carpenter Library, the UNF Arena, and the Student Union.
