The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) is a public university in the University of Texas System. It was established in 2013 and has campuses in Edinburg, Brownsville, and other locations in the Rio Grande Valley region of Texas. UTRGV is known for its diverse student body and commitment to providing higher education opportunities to the residents of the Rio Grande Valley.

UTRGV was created by the Texas Legislature in 2013, combining the resources and facilities of the University of Texas at Brownsville and the University of Texas-Pan American. The merger aimed to enhance educational opportunities and economic development in the region. The university officially opened its doors in 2015.
