University of the Fraser Valley (UFV) is a public university located in British Columbia, Canada. The University of the Fraser Valley was established in 1974 as Fraser Valley College. It was created in response to the growing need for higher education facilities in the Fraser Valley region. In 1988, it became a university college with the authority to grant baccalaureate degrees, and in 2008, it gained full university status, becoming the University of the Fraser Valley.
