Vels Institute of Science, Technology & Advanced Studies (VISTAS) is a private deemed university located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. It was established in 1992 under the Vels Educational Trust and was conferred the status of a deemed university in 2008 by the University Grants Commission.

VISTAS was founded by Dr. Ishari K. Ganesh in 1992. Initially, it started as the Vels College of Science, offering undergraduate courses in science and commerce. Over the years, it expanded its academic offerings and infrastructure, leading to its recognition as a deemed university in 2008.

VISTAS offers a wide range of undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs across various disciplines including engineering, management, pharmacy, law, marine studies, and basic sciences.
