Vels Institute of Science, Technology & Advanced Studies (VISTAS) is a private university located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. Established in 1992 under the Vaels Educational Trust, it was conferred the status of a Deemed University in 2008 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. VISTAS offers a wide range of undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs across various disciplines such as Engineering, Pharmacy, Management, Basic Sciences, Maritime Studies, Life Sciences, Computing Sciences, and Languages.

The institute was initially founded as Vels College of Pharmacy in 1992 by Dr. Ishari K Ganesh in memory of his late father Shri. Isari Velan, a former minister in the state government of Tamil Nadu. Over the years, it expanded its academic offerings and infrastructure, eventually being recognized as a Deemed University by the UGC.
