Verla Insko NC

Verla C. Insko is an American politician who has served as a member of the North Carolina House of Representatives since 1997. She represents the 56th district, which includes parts of Orange County. Insko is a member of the Democratic Party.

Verla Insko was born in Oklahoma. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Ottawa University in Kansas and a Master of Public Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Before entering politics, Insko worked in various roles in the healthcare sector. She was a health program administrator and served on the Orange County Board of Education.

North Carolina House of Representatives[edit | edit source]

Insko was first elected to the North Carolina House of Representatives in 1996. She has been re-elected multiple times and has served on numerous committees, including the Health Committee, the Appropriations Committee, and the Education Committee.

Insko is known for her advocacy on healthcare issues, education, and environmental protection. She has been a strong supporter of expanding Medicaid in North Carolina and has worked on legislation to improve mental health services.
