Veronica Carstens (born 18 June 1923 – 25 January 2012) was a German physician and the wife of Karl Carstens, the President of the Federal Republic of Germany from 1979 to 1984. She was known for her work in promoting natural medicine and homeopathy.

Veronica Prior was born in Bielefeld, Germany. She studied medicine at the University of Kiel and the University of Hamburg, where she earned her medical degree.

After completing her studies, Veronica Carstens worked as a physician, specializing in internal medicine. She was particularly interested in natural healing methods and became a prominent advocate for homeopathy and other forms of alternative medicine.

First Lady of Germany[edit | edit source]

As the wife of President Karl Carstens, Veronica Carstens served as the First Lady of Germany from 1979 to 1984. During her tenure, she used her platform to promote natural medicine and homeopathy. She was actively involved in various health-related initiatives and organizations.
