Vertical–horizontal illusion

Vertical–horizontal illusion is a visual illusion involving the misperception of the length of vertical and horizontal lines. When observers are presented with a pair of lines of identical length, one positioned vertically and the other horizontally, the vertical line is often perceived to be longer than the horizontal one.
