Viktors Ščerbatihs

Viktors Ščerbatihs (born 28 March 1974) is a prominent Latvian weightlifter who has made significant contributions to the sport. He is best known for his achievements in the super heavyweight category, where he has won multiple medals at the Olympic Games and World Weightlifting Championships.

Early Life and Career[edit | edit source]

Born in Daugavpils, Latvia, Ščerbatihs began his weightlifting career at a young age. He showed a natural talent for the sport and quickly rose through the ranks, earning a place on the Latvian national team. His dedication and hard work paid off when he won his first major international medal at the 1998 World Weightlifting Championships.

Achievements[edit | edit source]

Ščerbatihs has had a successful career in weightlifting, with numerous achievements to his name. He won the silver medal in the super heavyweight category at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, and followed this up with a bronze medal at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. He has also won multiple medals at the World Weightlifting Championships, including gold in 2007.

Ščerbatihs is widely regarded as one of the greatest weightlifters of his generation. His achievements have brought recognition to Latvia in the international weightlifting community, and he has inspired many young athletes in his home country to take up the sport.
