Vinay Kumar (pathologist)
Vinay Kumar is a prominent pathologist and medical educator of Indian origin. He is best known for his contributions to the field of pathology, particularly in the development of educational resources for medical students and professionals. Kumar is the co-author of several widely used textbooks, including "Robbins Basic Pathology", "Robbins and Cotran Pathologic Basis of Disease", and "Robbins and Cotran Review of Pathology".

Vinay Kumar was born in India. He completed his medical education in India before moving to the United States for further training. He received his MBBS degree from Punjab University, Chandigarh, India, and his MD (Pathology) degree from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, India.

Kumar has had a distinguished career in the field of pathology. He has held several prestigious positions, including the Alice Hogge and Arthur Baer Distinguished Service Professor at the University of Chicago in the Department of Pathology. He has also served as the Chairman of the Department of Pathology at the Pritzker School of Medicine, University of Chicago.
Kumar's work has been instrumental in the development of educational resources in pathology. His textbooks are widely used in medical education worldwide. His work has also contributed to the understanding of the pathogenesis of disease and the development of new diagnostic and therapeutic strategies.
