The Water & Power Development Authority (WAPDA) is a governmental body in Pakistan responsible for the development of water and power resources. Established in 1958, WAPDA's primary objective is to manage and operate the water and power resources of Pakistan efficiently.

WAPDA was created through an act of parliament in 1958 to unify the management of water and power resources in Pakistan. The authority was tasked with the development of water storage and power generation projects to meet the growing needs of the country.
