History[edit | edit source]

Westland Distillery was founded in 2010 by Emerson Lamb and Matt Hofmann. The distillery was built with the intention of bringing a new, uniquely American voice to the world of single malt whiskey. The distillery's location in the Pacific Northwest is ideal for the production of whiskey, with a climate that allows for exceptional barley growth and the perfect conditions for aging whiskey.

Production[edit | edit source]

Westland Distillery uses a variety of barley types in their whiskey production, including Washington Select, Munich, Extra Special, and Pale Chocolate. The distillery also uses a Belgian brewer's yeast for fermentation, which contributes to the unique flavor profile of their whiskeys.

The distillery's aging process is also unique. Westland uses a variety of cask types for aging, including new American oak, first-fill ex-bourbon, and sherry casks. This variety allows for a wide range of flavors and aromas in their whiskeys.
