History[edit | edit source]
Zevia was founded in 2007 by Derek Newman, Jessica Newman, and Ian Eisenberg. The company was initially based in Seattle, Washington, but relocated to Los Angeles, California in 2010. In 2014, Zevia became the first soda brand to switch to a colorless formula to avoid caramel color. The company also replaced its original packaging with a new design to reflect its clean ingredient line.
Products[edit | edit source]
Zevia's product line includes zero-calorie soft drinks, organic tea, energy drinks, and mixers. All products are sweetened with stevia, a plant-based sweetener that is 200-300 times sweeter than sugar but has no calories or effect on blood sugar levels. The company offers a variety of flavors, including cola, ginger root beer, and black cherry.
Ingredients[edit | edit source]
The main ingredients in Zevia products are carbonated water, stevia leaf extract, and natural flavors. Some products also contain caffeine, citric acid, and tartaric acid. All ingredients are non-GMO and vegan-friendly.
Reception[edit | edit source]
Zevia has been well received for its commitment to providing healthier beverage options. The company's products are sold in more than 20,000 retail locations in the United States and Canada, including Whole Foods, Target, and Amazon.
