6-MeO-THH

6-MeO-THH is a psychedelic tryptamine compound that is less commonly known in the field of pharmacology. It is a structural analog of THH (Tetrahydroharmine), with a methoxy group added at the 6 position.

Chemistry[edit | edit source]

6-MeO-THH belongs to the class of organic compounds known as tryptamines and derivatives. These are compounds containing the tryptamine backbone, which is structurally characterized by an indole ring substituted at the 3-position by an ethanamine.

Pharmacology[edit | edit source]

The pharmacological properties of 6-MeO-THH are not well-studied. However, as a derivative of THH, it is speculated to have similar properties. THH is known to act as a weak serotonin reuptake inhibitor, monoamine oxidase inhibitor, and serotonin receptor agonist. It is also thought to have some psychedelic properties, although these are less pronounced than other compounds in the same class, such as DMT (Dimethyltryptamine) and 5-MeO-DMT (5-Methoxy-Dimethyltryptamine).

Legal Status[edit | edit source]

The legal status of 6-MeO-THH varies by country and is often tied to the legal status of other tryptamine-based compounds. In many jurisdictions, it is not explicitly controlled, but it may be considered an analog of controlled substances, and therefore subject to similar laws.
