Abbotsford Regional Hospital and Cancer Centre (ARHCC) is a healthcare facility located in Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada. It is managed by the Fraser Health Authority (FHA), one of the six health authorities in the province.

History[edit | edit source]

The ARHCC was officially opened in 2008, replacing the aging Matsqui-Sumas-Abbotsford General Hospital. The new facility was designed to provide a wide range of health care services to the rapidly growing population of the Fraser Valley.

Facilities[edit | edit source]

The ARHCC is a 300-bed hospital that offers a variety of services including emergency, surgery, maternity care, mental health services, and medical imaging. It is also home to the Fraser Valley Cancer Centre, which provides oncology services to patients throughout the region.

Cancer Centre[edit | edit source]

The Fraser Valley Cancer Centre is a state-of-the-art facility that offers a range of cancer treatment services. These include radiation therapy, chemotherapy, clinical trials, and palliative care. The centre also provides support services such as counseling and nutrition advice.

Criticisms[edit | edit source]

Despite its modern facilities, the ARHCC has faced criticism for issues such as overcrowding and long wait times. However, the FHA has implemented measures to address these concerns, including the expansion of the emergency department and the addition of more beds.
