Abdelraouf Rawabdeh
Abdelraouf Rawabdeh (Arabic: عبد الرؤوف الروابدة
- born 1939) is a Jordanian politician who served as the Prime Minister of Jordan from 4 March 1999 to 19 June 2000. He has held various significant positions in the Government of Jordan and has been a prominent figure in Jordanian politics.
Early Life and Education[edit | edit source]
Rawabdeh was born in Irbid, a city in northern Jordan, in 1939. He pursued higher education at the American University of Beirut, where he earned a degree in pharmacy.
Political Career[edit | edit source]
Rawabdeh's political career began in the 1970s when he was appointed as the Minister of Health. He later served in various ministerial roles, including Minister of Education, Minister of Social Development, and Minister of Municipal Affairs.
In 1999, Rawabdeh was appointed as the Prime Minister of Jordan by King Abdullah II of Jordan. During his tenure, he focused on economic reforms and improving the country's infrastructure. His term as Prime Minister ended in 2000, and he was succeeded by Ali Abu al-Ragheb.
Later Career[edit | edit source]
After serving as Prime Minister, Rawabdeh continued to be active in Jordanian politics. He was appointed as a member of the Senate of Jordan, where he contributed to various legislative initiatives. He has also been involved in numerous social and cultural organizations in Jordan.
